Star Trek's Christmas Special

  • Star Trek has never produced a full-fledged Christmas special, although the show's original episode, The Trouble With Tribbles, was billed as such when it first aired on December 29th, 1967. However, the show has regularly featured Christmas elements and this episode celebrates the season with an enjoyable montage of holiday-themed episodes.

The episode includes a classic story from Shakespeare called "The Three Wise Men." In it, a Klingon general finds forgiveness and the second coming of the Klingon Messiah. It is also a holiday tale about starting over and accepting people for who they are. If you love Star Trek, you should check out this special episode.

Its storyline has some classic moments of the original series. The Christmas episode of Enterprise ends with Picard entering the Nexus, where he can see a Christmas fantasy for himself. He also has a romantic scene with a woman. The episode also includes an homage to James Bond, with Bashir escaping by throwing an explosive gift he received from Kira as a Christmas present.

While this episode isn't on the list of best "Star Trek" stories, it does deal with Christmas-related themes in a meaningful way. It follows the theme of light, love, and rebirth, and makes it one of the most meaningful Christmas episodes ever produced by the franchise.
